THE FREEDOM TO DISCOVER EVERY CORNER OF THE WORLD

the centreboarder gets you EVERYWHERE
Thanks to its shallow draft, the Exploration 60 can access the lagoons, shallow waters and most remote and tranquil beaches. Even the most adventurous can venture into poorly mapped areas. In the event of very bad weather, the centreboarder also offers the reassuring possibility of accessing highly protected, even shallow, sheltered areas.
LARGE TANKS TO BE SELF-SUFFICIENT
With its 800 L freshwater tanks, watermaker and 2,500 L diesel tanks, the Exploration 60 can sail far from marinas, in complete independence. Hydrogenerator, solar panels, generator, energy autonomy is also ensured by a choice of equipment. With this 18-metres sailboat, even the most remote areas are accessible for long stays, in complete autonomy.
LARGE CARRYING CAPACITY
The Exploration 60 also features a real Workshop. A storage area for tools and spare parts, it's spacious enough to work in and take care of the boat. With its numerous interior stowage spaces, large sail lockers and voluminous exterior storage areas, the Exploration 60 has an exceptional carrying capacity of almost 4 tons. Water toys, sports equipment such as skis or scuba tanks can be taken on board for any type of leisure or exploration activity.
EASILY ACCESSIBLE SYSTEMS
On every Garcia, the boat's components are accessible: every through-hull fitting, every tank inlet and outlet, every system... And on the Exploration 60, all the technical equipment is grouped together in a single dedicated area, a true equipment room, easily accessible for maintenance and repair. Soundproofed, this area also ensures crew comfort.

GO ANYWHERE,
SAFELY

the safety of an ALUMINIUM hull
The aluminium hull of this 60-foot yacht, with thicknesses ranging from 5 to 12 mm, is generously dimensioned right down to the frames and stringers, ensuring foolproof impact resistance in the event of a bad encounter or navigational error. For even greater peace of mind, the structure features a watertight bulkhead at the bow and stern, upstream of the steering system.
protected appendages
The propeller shaft is wrapped in a skeg. The rudders, made of aluminium and preceded by a protective skeg, also feature a composite sacrificial zone at the top. In the event of a violent impact, should the wick bend, the hull is preserved and the rudder remains functional.
Interior watch station
Inside the Exploration 60, it's the very layout of the central area that contributes to overall navigation safety. The chart table, like a wheelhouse, with instruments and engine controls, is plumb with the coachroof. Whatever the weather conditions, the boat can be steered from inside, with an unobstructed 270° view of the outside. The roof's inverted shape prevents reflections, so vision is always preserved.
outdoor monitoring post
All Garcia Exploration models feature a rigid cap at the end of the descent. Perfectly protected in a seated position, with a view forward and close to the manoeuvres, it's the ideal lookout post for those who like to stay outside. This area can also be enclosed with a tarpaulin, for added protection in less clement conditions. Handrails run the length of the deck, from the helm stations to the mast balcony.

comfort

270° VIEW TO THE OUTSIDE
On a Garcia exploration sailboat, whether at anchor or in port, you're inside in constant interaction with the outside. Whether seated or standing, thanks to the very large glass surfaces and hull portholes, adults and children alike always have a view of the outside, the sea, the sails and the landscape. This unique feeling of being outside while being inside is incomparable when you live on a long-distance boat.
THERMAL INSULATION
Big cold or tropical heat, with its 74 mm hull thermal insulation, insulated floors, double glazing and wide vents, the Exploration 60 protects its crew from extreme temperatures. The boat can be heated by several radiators fed by a central diesel-fired boiler. The heat is distributed evenly and silently. This equipment also provides soundproofing, both at sea and at anchor in high winds. Aboard the Exploration 60, comfort is total and serene.
HAVENS OF PEACE, WHEREVER YOU ARE IN THE WORLD
QUALITY of finish
Materials are chosen with taste and assembled with care. Fine polished aluminium edging runs elegantly around the woodwork and enhances the interior design, signed Isabelle RACOUPEAU. The interior lighting of this 18-meter sailing yacht is generous, enhanced by numerous led strips. Leather trim completes the ensemble on headboards, bed surrounds, bedside tables and handrails. The woodwork, upholstery and hull colors are all available to suit the owner's taste.
Superyacht-like refinement
Through its interior design, ambience, volumes and choice of materials, the Exploration 60 pushes Garcia's usual standards of comfort to the level of yacht refinement. It also features a cabin dedicated to the crew, a laundry room and a genuine technical area bringing together all the systems.

performance and
manoeuvrability

A MODERN, PERFORMANCE HULL
Garcia Exploration sailboats are designed by Olivier RACOUPEAU, an internationally renowned architect responsible for many fine racing yachts. Exploration hulls offer a skilful compromise between performance and comfort stability. Anchor chain, water and fuel tanks, all weights are centered to limit the boat's pitching, thus enhancing its seaworthiness and sailing comfort. Easy to adjust and long-lasting, Exploration boats boast high daily averages for shorter distances.
EASY TO MANOEUVRE SHORT-HANDED
Ergonomic deck layout covered with handrails, generously dimensioned, first-rate fittings throughout, well-cut sail plan, Exploration has been designed for easy handling by a small crew.
STABILITY WHEN SAILING DOWNWIND WITH THE CENTREBOARD RAISED
On a Garcia Exploration sailboat, as on a dinghy, on downwind points of sail the centerboard is raised, to reduce drag and move the center of gravity back. Movements are smoother, and the boat glides over the wave, even in extreme sea conditions, with no crunching effect. Thanks to the twin rudders, the boat remains stable and steady, and overspeed wave descents are perfectly controlled, even under autopilot.
