Last August, the bare hull of the first Garcia Exploration 60, shaped at the Garcia Yachts aluminum works site in Condé-en-Normandie, arrived at the assembly site of Cherbourg-en-Cotentin. After several weeks in the hands of the painting teams, who mainly intervened on the hull and on the deck, this hull has now left the paint booth. The thermal insulation based on high density foam and the 110 hp engine have also been installed, as shown in these images.
A highly anticipated model in the 60-foot ocean cruiser segment, this Garcia Yachts unit still requires many hours of work. The next step will take place in the main hall of the Cherbourg assembly site. It consists of the installation of the systems with the one of the fluid (water, fuel) and electricity networks. This will be followed by the installation of the interior layouts, then the mounting of sailing gear and finally the masting and the application of a vinyl covering on the hull.
Everyone in the shipyard is taking an active part in the progress of this unit, which sees Garcia Yachts return to the 55-foot plus aluminum blue water cruising yachts that have made its reputation. Launch planned for spring 2022.
